A local Legend

A local Legend

Behind every great event there is always one extremely passionate individual who is the glue that binds it all together. Someone who dedicates the majority of their personal time and effort to the event, and is well known and respected in the community. For the Hoka One One Kinloch Off-road Challenge, that person is Linda Malcolm.

Whether it’s recruiting and motivating marshals, drawing detailed course maps, or anything community related – Linda is the Kinloch go to. She does everything and anything, from erecting event notification signs, to preparing an after match function for the team.

It’s not just the Kinloch Off-road Challenge she has her mitts into either. She is also involved with the Taupo Ultramarathon, and is largely responsible for everything Kinloch related – which is the last sign of civilisation for participants heading for Whakaipo Bay.

Of course Linda does not (and would not) take any glory for all that she does. However we think it’s important to recognise these influential ‘behind the scenes’ individuals, who dedicate their time to help create memorable experiences for everyone taking part.

Thank you Linda,

Mark, and the Run Taupo team
